I know grad school exists, but is it just for people who want to become film teachers; or is it something an aspiring film maker should pursue?

Well, this is anecdotal but I have a good friend that's doing her master's in screenwriting at USC. She says it's very demanding and competitive. The program requires you to keep at least a 3.0 GPA. And it doesn't surprise me either. The film industry is extremely competitive.
