How are best answers selected?
The asker has four days from the time the question is asked to select a best answer by clicking the Select as Best Answer button next to the answer they choose. If the asker doesn't select a best answer within four days, the question moves to the undecided questions tab and the community votes for the best answer. At the end of the voting period, which lasts two days, the answer with the most votes is declared the best answer and receives the tip if a tip was offered. If no best answer has the most votes, the question is closed without a best answer and if a tip was offered the the tip is credited to the asker's account. If there's a tie, the voting period is extended until one answer has the most votes.
What are direct questions?
Direct questions are questions you ask another Mahalo Answers member. You can ask any member a question on their profile page. Members can set a minimum tip required to ask them a question.

Mahalo Answers strives to help you get helpful and trustworthy answers to your questions as quickly as possible.
A few tips on how to ask a good question:
- Be specific and clear. It's difficult to provide a great answer to a vague question.
- Be courteous and thoughtful. Do not ask questions that people may find insulting.
- Offering a tip can help you get a more thorough answer. Consider giving a tip if you're asking a difficult question and are willing to pay for a well researched answer.

- Please be polite and only post answers that are truly helpful.
- Focus on what you know. Answer questions related to your areas of expertise.
- Do research to increase trust in your answer, but don't claim other people's work as your own. Cite your sources.
- Don't damage the community by posting profanity, hate speech or anything illegal or malicious.
