Why does Calvino Inman cry tears of blood?

Tennessee teen Calvino Inman's eyes drip blood several times a day. So far doctors are baffled. His mother is desperately searching for some type of diagnosis.

Anyone have any ideas of why this may be happening or any other similar cases?

It is likely that Mr. Calvino Inman has a medical condition called Haemolacria where a person produces tears which are wholly or partially composed of blood.

According to Wikipedia, Haemolacria is "most often provoked by local factors such as bacterial conjunctivitis, environmental damage, injuries" or any other number of diseases. It can also be an external sign of a tumor.

Only his physicians though will ultimately be able to shed light on his specific case.

It is a medical mystery. His doctors are not sure why this is happening. He has been ridiculed and called possessed. He certainly doesn't seem to enjoy the attention that it gets.
But as for a reason, it is unknown.

It looks very painful. I am curious whether the religious have picked up on this one yet. They don't mention anything in the video about it. Purely scientific though, I believe. Tending to agree with @croakingtoad
