I'd like to put a plug out there for the "product" of hypnosis. Research has shown hypnosis to be helpful for resolving skin conditions. From the website below:
Both acupuncture and hypnotherapy have been shown to influence allergic responses which can cause eczema as well as alleviate the typical symptoms (itching, irritation and general discomfort. A report in the British Medical Journal as far back as 1963 revealed that hypnosis could prevent hypersensitive skin reactions to allergens and thereby prevent inflammation and irritation.
A report of the Royal College of Physicians Committee on Clinical Immunology and Allergy in 1992 acknowledged that acupuncture and hypnotherapy have a .role to play. in the treatment of allergy-induced eczema. This is particularly significant bearing in mind that Studies conducted at the Department of Paediatrics, St Goran.s Children.s Hospital, Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden have demonstrated that an allergy to a specific yeast (P. orbiculare) plays an important pathogenic role in many cases of eczema.

Thank you for your reference to the research on my website I first became interested in hypnotherapy for skin disorders when my son developed vitiligo. He was under the care of Birmingham childrens hospital for some years without any improvement and in fact as the years went by his face became quite disfigured by it. After extensive research I tried hypnosis with him and encouraged him to use visualisation techniques proir to sleeping I also practised visualisation with intention myself focusing on him. Within 4 days his skin started to re pigment on the areas that we had chosen to focus on- namely a large patch on his neck and his eye lids and face. I was staggered by the result and my sons joy was immense after years of being bullied as a result of the loss of pigment. He continued his visualisation pracitse and the vitiligo whilst still present to some degree is not obvious to the casual observer and does not cause any problems for my son. I would strongly urge any one with any skin disorder to open their minds to the use of hypnotherapy as a valid evidenced based treatment.Fiona Burman

Hi. The only cream that ever helped me was something called Doctors Defense Zen Fusion Clear Skin formula. My doctor recommended it and it has cleared up my skin tremendously. You can search for it online. It's about $30 for a small jar.
I also recommend acupuncture. Doesn't hurt — just requires some patience and tolerance of a small, initial pinch.
Those two things, plus getting a full night's rest and drinking a lot of water, have helped alleviate my skin issues.
You can see progress of my skin on my blog http://skinnygirlapril.wordpress.com/.
