What is the best kind of weight loss surgery?

There are 3 procedures that I am aware of out there. I have had the gastric bypass and have lost 87 lbs and feel great. Has anyone else out there had any type of bariatric surgery for weight loss? What have your results been like?

It really depends on your body mass and your goals in life. If you are morbidly obese and your doctor gives you a very short amount of time to live, then its most certainly time to have it done.

But, if you can even move on your own, and feed yourself, then you shouldn't do it. I've known a lot of morbidly obese people. I used to live in Minnesota, which is jam-packed with them. Frankly, I see a lot of tragedy in the whole situation. When people can't just deal with their issues and lose the weight in a natural way.

A great example for every morbidly obese person in the world is this man:

Manuel Uribe did not get any surgery. He weighed nearly 1200 lbs. and was the fattest man in the world. But he went on an appropriate diet and exercised by hand-pedaling and doing light pullups on a bar over his bed.

He is down to 700 lbs and it keeps on dropping. If this man can do it naturally from 1200 lbs, anyone can do it from much less. You have to have drive and determination and not expect that a surgery will solve all your problems.

Gastric bypass is the most effective surgery. It seems to work for everyone that has it, and it works not only by limiting the size of your stomach, but also by bypassing part of your intestine, so you will get less calories out of food.
