Bronchitis is an infection of the lung/bronchus. This usually occurs after an initial infection such as a cold. It can, however, occur as a primary infection, unusual but it happened to me. One of the main signs of bronchitis is a productive cough with green/yellow mucus. Other symptoms are fever, chest constriction and congestion.
As for treatment, if you are having trouble sleeping at night because of the coughing take an over the counter cough suppressant. During the day: rest, plenty of fluids and a cough expectorant (you WANT to cough up the stuff from your lungs).
If any of these symptoms persist longer than a few days you should see a doctor. I have included a link to the Mayo Clinic website with more information.

My first stop for health information is always WebMD. Go to http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/acute-bronchitis-topic-overview for more information, but be careful. Bronchitis can be serious, and if it gets bad you should see a doctor.
