Asperger's is on the autistic spectrum of diagnoses. It's primary feature is the impairment in social interactions. To be diagnosed, there has to be some repetitive and stereotyped patters of behavior... meaning... preoccupations with patterns of interests or objects.. or mannerisms.

As with most of the Autistic spectrum disorders, there are mixed studies, mixed diagnoses and mixed forms of treatment. The problem with some diagnoses is that, they come out with a new study... or some celebrity gets some information/news, and then you start to see an explosion of that disorder being diagnosed.
