Actually, there are quite a few articles (not on the internet) on this type of exercise and therapy in regards to its positive effect on chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, depression and other diseases that correspond with individuals having low energy levels, tiredness and other related symptoms. You can find some of them in Dr. Jerry Alan Johnson's book "Chinese Medical Qigong Therapy." Dr. Johnson is a doctor of traditional Chinese Medicine who lives in California. He is the founder of the International Institute of Medical Qigong, of which there are branches in several locations in the U.S.

I worked one-on-one training two people with fibromyalgia once, it did improve their symptomology during the short two months I worked with them.
If you are interested, you need to find a good teacher. Most of the teachers have some ability to do external qi work as well.
