--Marijuana has been demonstrated to decrease Crohn's symptoms.
--Marijuana decreases the need for immunosuppressive treatment of Crohn's.
--Marijuana is less toxic than most medical therapies for Crohn's.
--Synthetic cannabinoids (Marinol, dronabinol) are legal but may not be as effective as natural marijuana.
Cons:
--Marijuana is illegal.
--Inhaled marijuana smoke may be carcinogenic (although other forms of ingestion may not be).
--Exact dosage is difficult to control.
--Marijuana has no effect on the underlying inflammation that causes the symptoms of Crohn's.
There is a great deal of clinical and anecdotal evidence to suggest that marijuana helps relieve symptoms of Crohn disease. The drawbacks involve possible harmful effects of smoking marijuana, impairment of driving skills, etc., and legal complications regarding its use.

• Thank you, It's sad seeing people suffer and go to jail because they are simply trying to relieve themselves of horrible pain.

Yes I saw that and had to delete it. Please do not paste large portions of text from other websites into your Mahalo page, a simple link to the source would have been plenty. If you do use information from another website it should always be cited.

My girlfriend has Crohn's Disease and she has done medical marijuana. The pros about doing it is that it does soothe the pain. It's like taking an advil that won't ruin your stomach. It also decreases her anxiety about it so that her stomach doesn't get upset over worrying about it. Honestly since she's been doing I forget a lot of the time that she has it. Sounds silly but as far as I know she doesn't have as many problems with it like she use to before she used medical marijuana. Now this hasn't been scientifically proven but from our side it has done wonders for her. The only con is that it doesn't cure Chron's Disease. It's still there, but it sure does help her calm down and releases the pain from it. Pros:
1. Does soothe the stomach
2. Decreases anxiety over the pain.
Cons:
1. Doesn't cure Chron's Disease, but does help with the symptoms.
