The age that your parents are when they die is a good predictor. Even more so, the age the relatives on your mother's side of the family die is a good predictor.

It has to do with genetics.

This does not have to be a certainty. With exercise, not smoking, drinking in moderation only, and taking care of yourself, you can alter this in your favor.

There is a great quiz you can take on www.realage.com.

I don't like the idea of predicting when I am going to die, but yes, I have thought about it. I would like to be old and gray, but still have most of my facilities when I go, preferably in my sleep in my own bed. That is the ideal, of course. I think about other possibilities, too. I just prefer my rosy view.

When I was 21 and found out I was pregnant with my first child, my doctor told me that he discovered I had a bad heart and would be lucky to live to see 24. A decade later I am married and have had 5 more children and feel better than ever. However all my funeral expenses are paid for cause I know the day is coming sooner rather than later. So yeah, I have thought about it and prepared for it. Doctors can be wrong as far as when they think you will die and I am living proof of that.

I always thought I would die when I was in my 80's or 90's but after my sister died of cancer at 56 now I bless every day that I see.
