Is there a way to purge metals (e.g. aluminum, lead, etc) from your body?

We get exposed to aluminum in antiperspirants, lead in paint, and various other metals which aren't exactly healthy.  Are there ways to purge your system of these, or will they just continue to accumulate over yoour lifetime?

Here's a link to some health information on Aluminum. There is other information about other substances.

I don't think there is a way to purge these other than natural ways (unless you know where Magneto lives, but that's a VERY painful process).

I also don't think these substances will "accumulate" over your lifetime. As with most things, they usually leave your body after a while. Again, there are lethal doses and doses at high levels for long periods of time might cause damage and "accumulate", but not by being simply exposed to it (or else all the D&D; players would be dead by now... I know, I know... they don't use lead for figures... anymore).

There are several ways to test for heavy metals - hair samples are valuable for certain long-term metals stored there, and there are substances that chelate (pull from tissues where metals may reside) - which are used for diagnosis as well as treatment.
Over the counter remedies commonly used are chlorella (blue green algae), although more powerful medical options for serious toxicity are by intravenous injection of these chelating agents, usually weekly over time.
