Is it immoral to skip the flu vaccine?

Assume there is no vaccine shortage. Is it immoral to make the personal decision not to get vaccinated? Even if you try to stay home, you could still potentially spread the flu to someone else, who could be vulnerable and even die. Are you in the wrong for exposing others, or should they have been vaccinated themselves?

Personally, I don't see a strong connection between immorality and not getting a flu vaccine. But in a way, it can be also considered an immoral act esp. if you're aware and you're being required to get a shot and you refuse thus, causing the others to get infected by you and eventually die. No one wants to be blamed. That's why you should not only think of yourself, think also of others. You have the choice not to get a vaccine but others have the right to live.

If you do not want to get it don't!!

I had my 3 children vaccinated for the regular flu But my husband and I are not. If you are not high risk or do not have any reason to feel you need it,No one should tell you different.

No it is not immoral!

If you work with people who can die from the flu, it's immoral not to do everything you can to avoid the flu. Otherwise immunize as you feel the need.

I know several people whom,after receiving the vaccine have then developed 'flu like symptoms,not a result one would hope for! It is personal choice,so I don't think that it is in any way a moral dilemma.

I'm weird when it comes to the flu shot. If I get the shot, I get sick. If I don't get the shot, I'm fine! I never get the shot because I'd rather not get the flu.

I'd say, as long as you're in a healthy condition and keep yourself that way, it's OK to not get the flu shot.
