Reason number 2: the united states has not foundan effective enough way to efficiently tax the sale of marijuana without endorsing everyone to just "grow there own"
Reason number 3: The United States of America is in fact not very united, and most certainly not united enough to sync together with one another anti-criminilization laws which would decriminalize the drug. There will always be the people that make it their life goal to make sure a law like that doesn't pass for moral or religious reasons
Reason number 4: People that do make protesting or not protesting very simple, and 100% innefective substance control policies, which control a substance which should only be regulated very slightly at most, as the effect of the drugs harms and the drugs benefits to humans balance eachother out and make all the time, money, and air a complete f--king waste of time for anyone involved.

If marijuana was "proven" to be the cause for the healing it would be used. Marijuana used DURING the healing process or to alleviate symptoms does not outweigh the downside to using it. There are other medications that can do what marijuana does (alleviate symptoms, improve appetite, etc) without the side effects.
Smoking cigarettes improves short term memory. I wouldn't prescribe it.
That being said, cigarettes and alcohol kill so many people every day and they ARE legal.
I'll trade you legalizing marijuana for bringing back Prohibition any day.

Means Nexus argument does not hold up for usage of illegal substances. The legislative powers have defined substances as non authorized for consumption or usage, that is the law. Violation of the law is punishable by fine or imprisonment, that is administration of Justice. The legislative body of the state has the power to prohibit the usage of the substance. Until that law is proven to be inadequate, filled with fallacy, or opposed by the constituents, citizens do not have the right to break those laws.
