I woke up today and realized I need to quit smoking. It's killing me physically and financially... I need another bad habit.... Any ideas?

Wow! A smoker has to have a LOT of will power to say that - well done :)

I smoke and don't have any intention of giving up just yet. I'm 19. I plan on having children though, at some point, so obviously I'll be quitting one day - not a drag of smoke will pass my lips when I'm pregnant!

Anyway, I digress - the only thing I do when I don't have any tobacco is bite my nails. It's subconscious but it gets to the point where I have nothing left to bite off :s

You could try patches - free on the NHS if you go to group councelling once a week or a bit expensive from the pharmacy but without the crazy focus group. That's assuming you're in the UK anyway, you're probably not I guess.

You could try getting hypnotised - a few people I know said it worked, a few said it didn't. 50/50 I think.

Good luck anyway - I reckon it would be a good idea every day to put the money you would have spent on cigs in a piggy bank and save it up for a while - you'll end up with loads! :D

Whenever you feel like smoking, drink a beer instead. Repeat as necessary.
