I have asthma and allergies & a Pomeranian. Yes they shed--I'd advise you to go with another breed, I know they are cute--but unless you want to take Claritin or Singulair everyday--I'd go with another breed if I were you. I can't sleep with him and if I lay my head on the couch and he was there--I'll start sneezing. We vacuum A LOT and his coat requires a lot of brushing. (He's staying, my kids love him.)

I also have a poodle who does NOT shed. Poodles do not have an undercoat and have curly HAIR as opposed to the FLUFFY fur of a Pomeranian. I have had him for years and he has never triggered a sneezing fit like the Pomeranian. Hope this helps!

Yes, these dogs shed a lot! A daily or twice weekly brushing against the hair is essential to keep the thick, plush coat, which sheds seasonally, free of mats. Brushing also helps to prevent dry skin and dandruff.
