Since eczema is an inflamed skin condition, it is many times treated using a combination of corticosteroids, antibiotics, and/or antihistamines (depending on the severity).

There are also many alternative practices used to help with eczema which may be beneficial as they tend to be safer for the skin and overall health. These may include;

1. Adjusting one's diet to maintain a careful balance of the body's sugar level.
2. Various herbal therapies known to help; Burdock, St. John's Wort, Chamomile etc.
3. Using Tea Tree Oil as a topical has been known to help.
4. Having a good daily in intake of antioxidants has shown to be very beneficial for many skin conditions including eczema.

Hope this was a little helpful!

I used to get eczema patches on my eyelids. I tried a variety of prescription ointments/creams. The only thing that helped was Oil of Olay Regenerist Serum. No idea why it worked, but it completely got rid of the patches. I use it daily and it never came back.

The only other tip I would give would be to keep any allergies you have under control. It is often related.
