how do you fix an ear infection without going to the doctor?

Definitely go to a doctor if the infection persists. Since the infection is located in the head you do NOT want it to spread. You have your tympanic membrane there that can be eroded away and a bunch of nerves (facial and vestibularcoclear nerve in your middle ear cavity). Not to scare you, its difficult for the infection to penetrate other areas, but it definitely can cause much harm if not treated.

You could try a saline solution with warm water or debrox. You can get debrox at your pharmacy for bout 6 bucks. Also, talk to the pharmacist... he will give you better ideas as well.

Drink lots of water (to fight infection).

All in all go to the doctor if you dont feel better after 4-5 days or so.
