How do I lose weight fast about 20 lbs.? I had a baby 18 months ago and only lost 35 lbs. I gained 70 lbs. while pregnant.
Normal weight is about 130 and I weigh 186 which differs everyday. I want to try Phentermine but I don't know how to go about getting it. Is it a prescription or can you just buy it online without going to the doctor. I just want to get back to about 160 then lose the rest slower. Any advice? I am ashamed about how I look. I am fat around the waist and butt and my arms too. WHAT DO I DO?

The best solution is to follow a sensible eating plan and become more physically active. This doesn't mean give up all your favourite foods and replace every meal with a salad, nor does it mean run 5 miles every morning. Simply watch what you eat and do what ever exercise your lifestyle permits. For example, don't over indulge in fast food, instead maybe skip maccy d's and go have a sub or salad instead.
I actually tried a few fad diets and did have success with Atkins. This fad is pretty much over now, and did have some health risks that were a little too bad, if you stayed on it for too long. I'd suggest trying out the Weight Watchers program, as it seems that people who follow this plan have a fair bit of sucess. Also, I believe they have promotions from time to time which allow you to try their service free for a number of weeks. Check out www.weightwatchers.com for more information. It's pretty good because if you follow the service and go to the meetings, you're going to find others in a similar situation to you which will help act as a support network.
I also swam a lot while I was losing weight. It is great for me because it didn't take up too much time, and was also extremely relaxing. Maybe try giving this a go. It's nice to have the time to yourself in the water, even just to have a break and think sometimes.
Good luck and remember, you're not alone :)

• Thanks this really helped.
Oh don't EVER try the Atkin's diet. I tried the South Beach Diet in 2004 and ended up having my gallbladder taken out. It was linked to the diet.

If you lose weigh too quickly, you risk your health- and you risk gaining the weight back. I'd suggest that you talk to your doctor first, to see if there is something metabolic going on-- sometimes women develop thyroid issues after pregnancy that can hinder weight loss. Other wise, there are no quick fixes, if you're looking to take the weight off for good. Exercise and eat less-- using a sensible plan. Mahalo has pages on most of the major diets (sensible as well as fad diets), but a good place to start might be with How to Start a Calorie Reduction Diet.
Good luck - this is HARD.

Come on, come on! You have a baby! There's nothing wrong with the way you look. Eat a little less, exercise a little more. The kid is 18 months? You are about to get some exercise. Cheer up, lacee.
Oh, and I have lost 30 pounds since the end of January. Slow and steady as she goes.
