Thank you so much for your kindness and thoughts! Jayla is a truly amazing little girl and has touched the hearts of thousands! Unfortunately, Jayla did have a match for bone marrow, her younger sister Jayden. They did the transplant as the last resort, but the cancer came back. Her doctors have informed the family that there is nothing more to do for Jayla, and we are all just trying to squeeze a lifetime of memories into the short - precious - few weeks we have left with her.

However - as special as we believe Jayla is, she is not alone! There are thousands of children who are right now looking for a positive match of bone marrow in order to give them their last shot at survival. I HIGHLY encourage you to join the Bone Marrow National Registry and see if you can be listed as a possible donor. www.marrow.org

With regards to Jayla and her family, I have been given the daunting task of trying to raise funds for her funeral arrangements. A task that I am devastated to do, but honored to be of service. Should you or your family wish to contribute, please feel free: www.gracegrapevine.org

I know I can speak for Jayla and her family when I tell you how much we appreciate your kind offer. Please continue to pray for a miracle - and for the strength & courage we are all going to need during these next difficult weeks.

A very nice and quick summary of the process involved with donating bone marrow can be found at the link below.

A test to determine if you are a match includes a swab of cheek cells or a blood sample.

The steps include:
1. Join the Registry
2. Stay committed and available
3. Attend an information session
4. Receive a physical exam
5. Bone marrow donation/PBSC Donation
6. Side effects and recovery
7. Follow-up
