Hello , I have been taking cipralex for anxiety (which has helped) recently my blood work has shown anemia , could there be a connection?
I know that there may be an interacion with platlets of some kind could this be related/ my diet is very good and includes meat ,in fact cholesterol is an issue so Iam very puzzled by this anemia. Thankyou in advance for any answers.

According to UpToDate (medical database): research has shown that anemia is an adverse reaction of Cipralex (Escitalopram) in less than 1% of its users.
You can see this information for yourself at the following: http://www.smbrower.com/mediawiki/index.php/Escitalopram
So yes it is possible that the medication is causing the anemia; however I don't know how probable it is. Speak with your doctor about the implications of being anemic and whether or not you should try a different drug. People develop anemia for a myriad of reasons (the severity of the anemia will dictate your doctor's actions).
Bottomline: let you doctor know your concerns.
Good luck!
