Not medical advice, not an MD.

According to UpToDate (medical database): research has shown that anemia is an adverse reaction of Cipralex (Escitalopram) in less than 1% of its users.

You can see this information for yourself at the following: http://www.smbrower.com/mediawiki/index.php/Escitalopram

So yes it is possible that the medication is causing the anemia; however I don't know how probable it is. Speak with your doctor about the implications of being anemic and whether or not you should try a different drug. People develop anemia for a myriad of reasons (the severity of the anemia will dictate your doctor's actions).

Bottomline: let you doctor know your concerns.

Good luck!
