Have you noticed that Sudafed curbs your appetite/causes food to be unappealing/taste bad? If so, why is this?

I notice that when I take Sudafed, even if I am physically hungry, I have no desire to eat and food tastes awful if I try.

I have not experienced these side effects personally. However side effects do vary from person to person. Please refer to the link below. Perhaps you're experiencing some mild nausea.
