As far as I know, acupuncture and acupressure are used for very similar means and to very similar ends - I can't tell you anything about acupuncture, but my little sister had acupressure a few years ago and the results were amazing, it was like a miracle.
My sister has ADHD and she's 15 now, has grown out of it mostly and this is all due to her having acupressure for a few months five years ago.
She was like a whirlwind her whole life, smashing things and swearing and biting and spitting. My mother, doctors, psychologists and psychiatrists tried everything with her but to no avail. Then, after a few sessions of acupressure, it was like she had been miraculously cured!
I have no idea as to how effective these things are really, but I'd say it's definitely something worth trying and not just as a last resort ;)
