zyrtec is NOT recommended for children under the age of 6 months, but if a doctor prescribes it and adjusts the dose accordingly it could be very helpful in the management of allergy processes. It must be kept in mind that in pediatric patients, the clearance and bio availability of this medication is vastly different than in adults. this should be figured in dosing.
