It's actually quite common in prisons for prisoners to steal hand sanitizer and drink it.
Also remember that if you use mouthwash and take a breathalyzer, you WILL blow over, most likely at a higher than lethal limit.
So please don't go drinking mouthwash to try and get drunk. Even though it's cheaper than real alcohol, it's going to taste horrible and most likely make you throw up quickly!
Good luck!

Depending on the type of mouthwash, it can get you drunk. Some of the newer mouthwashes, however, are alcohol free, and actually warn against swallowing more than a single dose due to the nature of the ingredients.
More importantly, drinking a large quantity of any substance can get a person "drunk", but the excessive amounts that it takes are nearly fatal - water can even thin the blood enough to cause drunkenness, but at the risk of death. The yeast in bread dough has a similar affect, but will likely cause vomiting well before inebriation.

Most commercial mouthwash contain nothing more than high alcohol content, food coloring, water and artificial sweeteners like saccharin. You can only get drunk if you drink the whole bottle. Winos with low income have done such a thing. It is definitely not the way to a healthy mouth. Please don't try this at home (video). My source will keep you safe and sane.
