Rinse with peroxide. When I was a kid, Mom used to rub a chunk of alum on our canker sores (mouth ulcers). It must be good for you because it tastes terrible. Here is a brief set of instructions from eHow for alum application:
"Instructions
Difficulty: Easy
Things You’ll Need:
* Alum
Step1
Wet the tip of your finger.
Step2
Touch the tip of your finger to Alum so that a small quantity adheres.
Step3
Touch the alum to your canker sore.
Step4
Breath deep and know that it will all feel better soon."
