There have been many studies done, here is a sample what you can learn.

BBC says even 1 cup a day is risky

University of Athens and Harokopio University researchers found drinking more than one cup increased the chances of cardiovascular inflammation.

They studied 3,000 people and found those who drank more than 200ml tested higher for a variety of indicators of inflammation.

Then to confuse you, ScienceDaily says 1 cup is good for you.

A new study has good news for coffee drinkers: Regular coffee drinking (up to 6 cups per day) is not associated with increased deaths in either men or women. In fact, both caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee consumption is associated with a somewhat smaller rate of death from heart disease.

I am sure the correct answer is somewhere in between, my personal advice would be don't worry about, once you are born everything will contribute someway to your death, you just dont know what it will be until you die... I am not a doctor.. for a good reason

Since I'm a coffee nut (well... just a nut), I wondered the same thing. When I asked my Primary Care Physician, she said to try and limit it to one cup a day. I currently drink two to three during the morning.

I think it depends on what you consider "too much". I don't have very many other vices. I cut caffeine out in all other areas of my life. I've lowered my sugar intake, and a only smoke a cigar once a month to six months. I also exercise four days a week (and walk a Lab at least once a day). I think two to three cups a day is fine... for me.

It's all about balance...
