Does anyone know how lethal old antibiotics are? I have so left over from the last time my throat caved in.

It may not kill you if you take the old antibiotics. However, they may not be fully effective (may have expired) and taking them may in fact increase the likelihood that you may develop resistant strain of bacteria. MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) is a strain of staph which is now resistant to the broad spectrum antibiotics used to treat it. It may be that you simply have a virus, if so antibiotics would not be an effective course of treatment. If you are concerned that you may have a bacterial infection, you should see your doctor to see if antibiotics are important. I have included some links below regarding antibiotics, anti-biotic resistance and MRSA if you would like further information.

I'd like to add that you shouldn't have antibiotics left over to begin with as you are suppose to complete one whole course of it to prevent bugs/virus/bacteria from developing resistance toward antibiotics. Keep in mind that when that happens, it's not only your health as risk as this power-up strain could infect other's.
