Yes, I don't think that people understand the germs lurking on them! This is especially true when it comes to childrens book. After touching or reading a book and/or magazine that circulates such as in a library, it's a good idea to whip out the hand sanitizer.

Considering that hard copy books are quickly becoming a thing of the past due to the internet's surging popularity, I would be more concerned about the germs in your computer lab. Unless you're waiting for your library to call when the latest best-seller gets checked back in, the chance that the germs the last person may have left behind on the book you may be looking up in your local library are slim.
I find that society tends to breed a type of germophobia... constant slams from advertising campaigns for cleaners that make us fearful may be going a little too far. Studies show that people who are exposed to germs have stronger immune systems than people who are meticulously germ-free
