Any child with a what is medically considered a high fever who is refusing food and drink should be taken to a doctor immediately whether it is H1N1 or not.
A high fever in a young children can quickly cause brain damage. Keep in mind that a high fever is above 102.2 (unless the child is a baby under 3 months) below this point most medical professionals actually agree letting the fever run it's course is the best course of action as a fever is the way the body fights off infection.
I usually give my son a fever reducer around 101, and wait to see if it passes, if it continues to rise I always take him in.
A high fever coupled with the refusal for fluids would quickly lead to dehydration which can be dangerous in itself.
