Anyone from anywhere can be not only a member of Alcoholics Anonymous but they can have great success within the program.

The third tradition in Alcoholics Anonymous says:

3) The **only** requirement for membership is the desire to stop drinking.

So regardless of political beliefs or anything else a simple desire to stop drinking is all that is required to be a member of Alcoholics Anonymous.

why not? A.A. is supposed to be non-discrimininatory, non denominational, etc. besides, you are there to talk about addiction - your political views ar any other for that matter should not even come into play in A.A..

AA is an anonymous (sorry to be obvious) gathering of people who wish to deal with their alcoholism. That not only means that they are not supposed to discuss people outside of the meeting, but they aren't even actually required to use their real name if they don't want to, much less their political beliefs. Actually, Satan can even go to a meeting if he wants and to be honest, he doesn't even have to admit he is powerless over alcohol or has the desire to quit. Those with questions are welcome at open meetings.
