I'm not a doctor or pharmacist and have no health training... so you should definitely check with one of these professionals... to me as an "uneducated lay person"... Nortriptyline is classified as a tricyclic antidepressant that can have a sedative effect and valerian root is a "natural" remedy/sleep aid. So it probably doesn't seem like a great idea to combine the two. Also, Drugs.com lists valerian root as having the potential of a moderate interaction with nortriptyline.
