My wife, the nutritionist, says that the Zone diet is a healthier diet, a little high on the fat, but can be used by Type 1 diabetics...

"The low GI diet profoundly decreased triglycerides by an impressive 35 percent, increased the size of LDL particles, and reduced plasma insulin levels—all consistent with a reduction in the risk for CHD and diabetes." (From the article sourced below.)

Any diet should be discussed with your Doctor and Dietitian, especially if you have diabetes!
