I have personally used Reputation Defender since 2006. I use their MyEdge service to help maintain my virtually image for both myself and my organization.
I was a victim of Internet Defamation and won a landmark case in Florida with a jury verdict of over $11M - a verdict that sent a loud message. I was literally destroyed online - the first 3 pages of my Google were filled with slime, lies, and twisted truths.
Although I was vindicated legally, my online presence was still tarnished badly. I had to close my office and now work from my home. I was introduced to Reputation Defender after the trial - and 3 months after that, I was alive virtually again! My business came back and most important, I felt like I was human again.
I am not paid by ReputationDefender, I do not receive any referral fees from them, and I don't sponsor them - I am simply a grateful client.
You can read more about my story in my recently released book "Google Bomb!" The Untold Story of How the $11.3M Verdict Changed the Way We Use the Internet. http://www.googlebombbook.com

M$The fact that you search for reputationdefender.com and this source - with disparaging remarks about Reputation Defender (regardless of if they are true or not) - appears in the top ten, should tell you that it apparently doesn't work.
But, I am sure they'd be happy to take your money.

M$The company's procedure involves searching information online assisted by a program termed as searchbot, this program identifies domains that contain the damaging statements. After which they will formally communicate with owners of the domain sites, requesting them to delete such statements. If these moves is futile, it will send a series of strongly worded letter, thus if no positive response is found, said case is forwarded to an attorney that specializes in this types of situations.

M$Despite these challenges, with a deep understanding of SEO, as well as the search engine protocols for requesting link/cache removal, you can usually minimize the negative content in the search engines, even if you can't get the content deleted. This is an art as much as a science, and it does take time and effort before you are likely to see results.
However, for any company to say that they can "guarantee" results is impossible. Most of the time, deleting content from the search engines is not within their control. In this case, the "guarantee" is simply a marketing tool, as, based on their prior history, they know that in a significant percentage of the cases, they can improve the situation, and they may be willing to offer a refund for the rest to help get the business in the first place.

M$You should know that 1) They do not "hack" websites to remove data. They do not employ anyone with technical expertise for defending reputations; 2) Michael Fertik is not a lawyer as far as anyone can tell (he went to Harvard Law School but never passed the bar); 3) he's a serial "start-up" CEO. He's created more business that fail than have succeeded.
Basically, there's not a whole lot that they can do unless the offending parties agree to take down the content that offends you. If they're not willing to work with you or reputation defender, the information stays on the internet.
