I like Hermione. She is not from the magic world, since she was born to Muggle parents, so she has a somewhat different outlook on life.
Also, I like that she is a girl and she is very smart. And she keeps being smart despite kids picking on her. I like that. She is who she is, no matter what the other kids say.
Yes, somehow, she goes for Ron in the end, but I like that she is a strong female character who likes to study and to learn, for learning's sake. There are a lot of smart girls around Hermione's age (and older) who can take her as a role model.

I feel like I've grown up with him, he's my age and I can use him as a model for how I can carry myself.
I guess my favorite character in Harry Potter is "Hogwarts" itself. It's not one person who makes the story, it's the whole environment and world J.K. Rowling created :)

Which character in Harry Potter is your favourite and why?
Mine is Severus Snape.
I really respect him and the things he has done. JK Rowling has done a tremendous job in building his character.

Yes. I agree with you on the environment itself. It is the whole world that she created as a whole.
Well, for me, there are always the movies, so it's not really over. And as a big book fan, I do find the movies disappointing but I still enjoy them, a lot.

The 3rd and 4th movie were really amazing, but the rest were big disappointments (except for the music).
Even when the movies are "decent," it's such a waste because they could be so much better!

Hermione is my favorite character because I can relate to her the most. I was a hardcore over-achiever in school and everyone always asked me to help the with their homework. I was also insecure about myself, like Hermione often is throughout the series, though I and she didn't want to admit it.
