Eyeball Highball
http://www.oneprettything.com/images/posts/mosaic733724.jpg

Ingredients
* 14 medium radishes
* 7 pimiento-stuffed olives, halved crosswise
* 16 ounces gin or vodka
* 1 ounce vermouth

Directions

1. Trim stem and root ends of radish. Use a paring knife to scrape red skin from radish, leaving just enough to give a veiny appearance. With a small melon baller, cut a hole in radish, about 1/2 inch in diameter. Fit an olive half, cut-side facing out, into hole. Place radish in ice-cube tray. Repeat with remaining radishes. Fill tray with water; freeze.
2. Mix vodka or gin with vermouth; stir with ice. Divide eyeball ice cubes among four glasses. Strain martini; pour into glasses, and serve.

Blood drip
http://www.hostessblog.com/wp-content/uploads/uploaded_images/redcandy_cocktailrimmer_1.jpg
The “blood rim” is made from the same kind of mixture as you’d use to make hard candy. It’s actually pretty easy, but you will need a candy thermometer (which you can find at most grocery stores).

Ingredients:
1 c. Sugar
1/2 c. Karo Syrup
1/2 c. Water
Red Food Coloring

Directions:
Combine sugar, syrup and water. Cook without stirring to hard crack stage – which is 300 degrees F. Add food coloring.

Turn off heat. While the mixture is still hot, dunk the top of the cocktail glass into the mixture to create the red rim. If you need to do several glasses, keep the mixture hot so it lasts longer (instead of turning heat off, just reduce slightly).You can go anywhere from just along the very tip of the rim to part way down the glass – whichever you prefer. Flip the glass right side up to cool. The thick consistency of the mixture will cause “drips” as it hardens on the glass

For the wow factor you can go with the Medusa face and hand punch it is definitely different and will have people talking
http://images.marthastewart.com/images/content/tv/ms_living_tv/2007Q1/tvs7477_l.jpg

Duct tape
Plastic face mask
Green liquid food coloring
Clothespins
Plastic container, such as a Sterilite bin
Packing material such as Styrofoam peanuts or bubble wrap
Gummy worms
Pair of large latex gloves
Rubber bands
Sheet pan
Parchment paper
Beverages, such as ginger ale or lemonade, to make punch

Ice Face and Hands How-To
1. Using duct tape, tape up all of the mask's orifices, such as the nostril holes, inside and out. Place the mask face-down in the plastic container, stabilizing the mask in place with the packing material.

2. Using the food coloring, dye about 3 cups of water light green (this should require only about one drop of the coloring). Pour the mixture into the mask, filling it about halfway.

3. Lay the gummy worms as desired around the head of the mask, creating Medusa's hair and using clothespins to hold them in place. Freeze the mask, at least overnight.

4. To create the hands, fill the latex gloves with water (one glove holds about 1 1/2 cups water, so you'll need about 3 cups for both). Using rubber bands, tie the gloves at the wrists to seal them shut. Place the hands flat on a sheet pan covered with parchment paper, to prevent them from sticking. Freeze the hands, at least overnight.

5. Remove the mask from the container, remove the face from the mask mold, and remove the hands from the gloves. (They should come out easily, but if not, place the hands and face in another container filled with room-temperature water to loosen them from the molds.) Turn the face upside-down to reveal the green face with worm hair.

6. Prepare the punch of your choice (Martha uses lemonade and ginger ale), gently slide the face into the punch, and add the hands -- one on each side, palms facing up.

How about a Pumpkin Pie Shot?

--Quote--
Pumpkin Pie Shot (this version is from The Tavern in Albany N.Y.):

- 2 parts Kahlua (or other coffee liqueur)
- 1 part Bailey’s Irish Cream
- 1 part Goldschlager
- Ground cinnamon

Combine the Kahlua and Baileys and pour into shot glass. Float the Goldschlager on top and carefully set on fire. While burning, sprinkle a little Cinnamon on to the flame and watch the fireworks!! Great for parties but don’t light anything aflame please. Now – either blow out or wait for the flame to go out naturally and then shoot it. Yummy warm Pumpkin Pie that will get you snockered!

This sounds pretty interesting flavor wise, not so sure about the fire part though. Alcohol and fire doesn't seem like a good combination!

I would add to any of those a bit of dry ice to up the spooky factor as well as the carbonation - just make sure not to drink it! use a strainer over the dry ice in a punch bowl so noone scoops it up - for single serve make sure it is a clear glass so you can see it has completely sublimated (disappeared!).

My favorite Halloween drink is a good quality rye and ginger.

I Halloween it up by putting a little red food coloring to ice cubes just before they're froze. Makes it sort of look like blood.

This works really well for just about any cocktail and works even better when you make ice cubes in these skull and crossbones tray

Think Geek has them!

Amazon has them too.

They're at boutique kitchen shops too so you may be able to find them locally.

They make a "rock and roll" set too that is pretty neat. Ice cubes form a guitar!

Well, that's an easy question! The best Halloween drink is definitely the "Black Magherita"! It's the best, spooky drink for Halloween.
You mix it as usual with Tequila,
then add a shot of Blue Curacao,
add a shot of cranberry or black juice or sirup,
and a little bit of lime.
Mix it with ice and there you go. An easy, but very delicious drink for Halloween! I'm sure your guests will love it!

Here at our house the drink fo Halloween is Halloween Wine, a spiced appled wine bottled in orange decorated bottles for Halloween. The wine is produced at Illinois River Winery in Utica and best served warm.

My second choice would be to go to an old favorite, because everyone likes zombies at Halloween:

Zombie recipe

1/2 oz Bacardi® 151 rum
1 oz pineapple juice
1 oz orange juice
1/2 oz apricot brandy
1 tsp sugar
2 oz light rum
1 oz dark rum
1 oz lime juice

Blend all ingredients with ice except Bacardi 151 proof rum. Pour into a collins glass. Float Bacardi 151 proof rum on top. Garnish with a fruit slice, sprig of mint and a cherry.

There are lots of other zombie recipes, so you can personalize or make it by the pitcher.

I can honestly say the Zombie is by far my favorite drink.. but can't find the recipe I love :( It was from a place called cafe cuba in Ansbach, Germany. Makes me so sad.. I've tried this recipe as well and it's good but not as good.

Champagne or sparkling wine

Pour Hypnotic, blue Curacao and elderflower syrup directly in a chilled champagne glass. Stir lightly before topping with champagne.

I love the cotton candy clouds and chocolate moons used to garnish this drink. But if you can't stomach champagne or white wine or just find that it's too pretty to drink, try something with an apple flavor.

The Apple Bob was featured this week on drinkoftheweek.com and packs quite a punch of flavor.

Domaine de Canton Apple Bob

1 oz. Domaine de Canton
1 oz. Reposado Tequila
1 oz. green apple puree
1/4 oz. Cointreau
1/2 oz. fresh lime juice

Rim a cocktail glass with cinnamon sugar. Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into the cocktail glass. Garnish with an apple slice.

Here's another similar drink recipe that has quite a memorable name:

Underaged Hooker With Chlamydia on 151st and Morgan Street

2 oz Captain Morgan's 100 Proof Spiced Rum
2 oz Absolut Peppar Vodka
2.25 oz Orange Juice
3 oz Laird's Applejack Liquor
1 oz Bacardi 151 Rum

Mmmm....enjoy.

For another creative twist, try a screwed-up screwdriver. Just add black vodka to tangerine juice or OJ and garnish with black licorice.

For an added effect, try rimming the glasses with BLOOD. WAAHAAHAA. (Fake blood, of course.) This makes for a great addition to those Twilight themes Vampire parties.
Combine one cup of sugar, a half a cup of corn syrup, a half a cup of water and red food coloring and cook until internal temperature reaches 300 degrees to create a hard candy coating. Dip glasses in coating while hot and let it drip down the sides. Put glasses in freezer to harden mixture.

For the kiddos, try a non-alcoholic witches brew in a punch bowl.

Ingredients:

* 4 cups Cranberry juice cocktail
* 1 cup chopped & candied Ginger
* 3 Orange
* 12 oz frozen Apple juice concentrate
* 6 oz frozen Limeade concentrate
* 2 cups seedless Grapes
* 4 cups Water
* 1/2 gal Ginger ale

Mixing instructions:

In a 1 to 2 quart pan, bring 1 cup of cranberry juice and candied ginger to a boil over high heat. Boil, uncovered, about 2 minutes, set aside. With a vegetable peeler, pare peel (colored part only) from oranges: cut peel into thin 2 in long worms: or use an Oriental shredder to make long shreds. Add orange peel to cranberry mixture. Cover and chill at least 4 hours or as long as overnight. Juice oranges: put juice in a 6 to 8 quart pan or heavy bowl. Stir in cranberry-ginger mixture, the 3 cups cranberry juice, apple concentrate, limeade, grapes and water. If made ahead, cover and chill up to 2 hours. Add ginger ale and about a 1 pound piece of dry ice (DO NOT put small pieces in punch or cups): ice should smolder at least 30 minutes. Ladle into cups. Add any remaining ice when bubbling ceases.

An extra nice effect for this recipe or other punch bowl favorites is to make frozen bloody hands. To do this, you can use a clean latex glove (rinse it out). Fill it with water and a little bit of red food coloring and freeze by letting it hang off the edge of a freezer shelf.

1 teaspoon fresh lime juice

1 ½ ounces Bailey's Irish Cream

grenadine

Preparation:

Step 1: Pour the schnapps and lime juice into a shaker filled with ice.

Step 2: Shake.

Step 3: Strain into an on-the-rocks glass.

Step 4: Drip a drop or two of grenadine into the glass, it will sink to the bottom and look like blood.

Step 5: Dip the drinking straw into the Bailey's; place finger over your end to capture some inside the straw.

Step 6: Insert filled straw into the center of the glass.

Step 7: Allow Bailey's to slowly filter into the schnapps-lime liquid - it will form a ball that looks like a brain floating in formaldehyde."

I'm rather fond of the eyeball-tini although eyes gross me out on so many levels.

Courtesy of Greg Baker and Michelle Baker from the website
http://www.culinarysherpas.com

Halloween Eyeball-Tini
3 oz Vodka
1 tbsp dry Vermouth
1 tbsp Olive juice
2 radishes
2 Pimento stuffed olives

Fill bar shaker with ice. Pour in Vermouth and shake well. Drain Vermouth from shaker, keeping ice in shaker. Pour Vodka and Olive juice into iced shaker. Shake very well. Strain Vodka mix into martini glass.
With a small paring knife, carefully cut out a center in the radish for one olive. Use a zester to remove small strips of the radishes red flesh, alternating so that strips of white and red flesh are visible. Insert one pimento stuffed olive into radish. Pop eyeball into the Vodka martini and enjoy.

1 oz vodka
1/2 glass tomato juice
1/2 glass beef bouillon

A weird twist on the classic Bloody Mary, why not try the violent-sounding yet equally tasty Bloody Bull? Simply pour these ingredients over ice in a spooky goblet and stir. You may provide celery sticks, lemons, or limes for garnish. Some people like to add a little Worcestershire sauce into the mix. I personally like mine with lots of spice--I add chopped red chilies and some tabasco for a powerful kick!
