Addam's Groove by MC Hammer came in at number 8 but it is from 1992.

Thriller the MV costs more than US$500,000 to produce and it lasts for 14-minutes. This MV is also listed in Guinness World Records as the "most successful music video", selling more than 9 million copies worldwide

You can pick this nice live version he did or stick with the great original recording.
With all of our help, you're going to have one great play list which I'll probably end up borrowing too!
Enjoy!

(other artists have covered it, but this is BY FAR the best version, especially for Halloween)

@gno Oh sweet one, I have the CCR version on my list but I like Screamin' Jay's original better. Mahalo for that one.
p.s:I know its a bummer holding it to just 1 selection per answer, because I know some of you have some wicked good lists.
My reason for holding it to just 1 is to discourage those who have a tendency to just C/P a list as an answer with little concideration to those who actually take time with a question to respond with thought and curtesy.
Personally I find it to be in bad form, and not in the spirit I believe the answer section is intended for, to spam C/P answers without concideration to the end user.
I have seen enough of your work to formulate the opinion that you feel likewise.

Once the answer's closed, I might swing back a fill in the gaps in case you need more ideas. I have 36 different songs (including a few "theme songs"), and can't pass up an opportunity to share some of them!

If you don't include Van Morrison singing "Moondance", I'd be awfully upset! You can pick this nice live version he did or stick with the great original recording.

@bunnyphuphu I likki your thinking, you bet Van Morrison's Moondance is on the list. (theres members of my gang that would thrash me if it wasn't)
p.s: My gang of pranksters and I have been hosting a Halloween party for over 25 years.Putting the music together was on my list of duties for this years gig, which we tagged as "The JeEpeRSpEEperS BaLL".
Last year we held the "PUMPKIN PATCH BASH", it was a smash; had almost 200 quests. We've had some grand parties over the years. It all started back in the mid 80s when we put together the "Bare Creek BOO!gie"
It was held outdoors at a friend's place down in SW Missouri on Bear Creek.
The Ozark Mountain Daredevils did the music ( the drummer is an old friend and it was at his place) and we had close to a thousand people show up. We made a pact after we did the clean up to host a party every year until we were just to old to pull it off anymore. Of course we learned to do it by invite only after that one, lol, 1,000 people is a crazy scene, so we hold it to 100 to 200 these days.
Peace

It was played in the movie 'The Midnight Hour'. It's about high school students who wake the dead on Halloween night. It's kinda scary, but kinda funny too, well at least it was funny when I watched it years ago.

Not bad. Definitely a new classic, but on my playlist, I have a nice audio copy of the original version from the movie (not Marilyn Manson).
