Haha, my husband steals MY Mach 3 Turbo razor!
In college I was still using the disposable razors with just one blade, and burning through them fast. A good girlfriend of mine saw this, dragged me to the drugstore, put a Mach 3 in my hands and said "Here, this is MUCH better".
And she was right! When I married my husband, he saw I was using a Mach 3 and I caught him "borrowing it so much for his face, that I bought him one of his own. :D
Back when I first started using the Mach 3, most women's razors had guards attached that were supposed to protect delicate skin, but in my case just gave me stubble. The Mach 3, on the other hand, always gives me a clean smooth shave!
Because I'm using a more powerful razor, I do have to exercise extra caution to only shave in short, light strokes, applying to pressure to the blade. And they're pricey, considering women usually go through blades faster than men. But for me, the Mach 3 is the best. I won't switch until they tear it off of the supermarket shelves.
Ladies, if you like lots of power and feel like cowgirling it up, get yourself a Mach 3!

I asked her why she keeps using it and she says it just shaves closer than the ones the girls get.

The only real difference I found so far is in the Venus 3 razor for woman which comes with a soft, protective cushions surround blades and oval cartridge for comfort. In all, both razors Mach 3 and Venus 3, seem identical in functionality. So in theory there is no reason why women should not use Mach 3, except for the cushioning blades and the oval cartridge the Venus 3 carries:
Gillette Mach3 Shaving System, 1 system
Product Features:
* Gillette MACH3 Razor and 2 Cartridges - 1 ea
* Triple-blade shaving system with an advanced indicator lubricating strip
* Razor features ergonomic handle; 3 blades gradually extend closer to beard, less reshaving is required
* The indicator lubricating strip has a blue stripe that fades away when blade is no longer optimum
* Each blade has a patented DLC comfort edge to glide effortlessly across face

Gillette For Women Venus3, 1 razor, 1 cartridge
Product Features:
* Gillette Venus razor for women with 1 cartridge
* Triple-blade shaving system; soft, protective cushions surround blades; oval cartridge for comfort
* Ergonomic handle with finger rest for precise control and maneuverability; 3 blades for fewer missed hairs

Then she got the pink "girl" version (Venus).
Don't _ever_ borrow a woman's razor. There are two good reason a man's razor always shaves better:
1. we change the blades
2. we DON'T leave them in the shower
Her blade is dull, coated with scum, and generally scraaaapes the hair off, rather than lifting and cutting cleanly.
I still tend to hide my razor (and shaving cream) in the guest bathroom.

Gillette mach 3 is for men but could be for women as well?
Apparently some women are using men's razors because they might last longer due to smaller shave area (face instead of legs) and/or closer shave.
What do you think? Have any of you "stolen" your boyfriend/husband's razor? Results?

My wife has stolen my razor many times, and I use a Mach 3 Turbo. She loves it so much I went and bought her the "gift set" for a stocking stuffer last year for Christmas! LOL! She loves it and still uses it. I asked her why she keeps using it and she says it just shaves closer than the ones the girls get.

It all depends of what the woman feels it’s better for her. Here are the differences of both, the Mach 3 razor for men, and its equivalent, Venus 3 for woman. I would recommend that a woman use a woman's razor. Men's skin is about 20% to 30% thicker than a woman's. It seems wise for a woman to get a razor made for a woman's skin.

My wife stole my Mach 3 all the time until I moved it into the other bathroom. She says that it shaves better. Of course...better than cheap disposables. Then she got the pink "girl" version (Venus).

An upper cheek may be thinner than a knee. An 80-year-old man's neck is more frail than than an 18-year-old woman's thigh.
Within-person variation ranges from .05mm - 1.5mm (eyelids to palms). Between-person, and between body parts...there's no way to make a blanket statement about skin thickness being an issue.
The wide heads on a woman's razor are to keep the blades away from the skin. Women are not slow or careful...they shave like they're peeling carrots. And, sometimes they shave off some skin. The oversize plastic head also distributes some of the pressure, since razor blades were designed to cut with a sharp edge...not with brute force.
Blunt tools and too much pressure are ingredients for injury, whether you're using a razor, chisel, knife, etc.
It's very hard for a man to shave angles, curves, and nooks with an oversized woman's razor.
