I've been removing my chest/stomach hair for a long time now, so let me tell you the various process I tried and what worked best.
I'll tell you right off the bat, waxing is NOT the way to go. I tried it over the summer before I went on vacation because my girlfriend told me the hair would grow back slower, and I wouldn't have razor burn. Wrong and wrong. The hair grew back just like it usually does, and my skin got incredibly irritated afterwards.
I've also used Nair; this might be an okay option if you just have a very light amount of chest hair. BUT, I didn't. I had quite a bit, and the Nair was not very effective in removing all of the hair and I ended up having to shave still because of how much remained after using the Nair.
The method that has worked best over time for me is this: start off by trimming the hair with a beard trimmer or similar, so you can get it down to a 'stubble' of sorts. Next is probably the most important part, and that is purchasing a high quality shaving cream. I've used all the well-known brands (Edge, Schick, etc.) and while they are alright, I still get some razor burn. I use ZIRH, and although its a little pricy, it does a really good job of preventing any bumps or irritation.

So obviously, after trimming and applying the shaving cream, just do a good old razor shave with a triple or quad blade razor. And then of course, after the shave, use an aftershave balm or lotion to protect your skin even further.
I think if you follow these steps to ensure the preparation and protection of your skin before shaving the chest hair, you'll find that you won't have any more red bumps or razor burn.
Good luck!

I would believe that most body builder would trim their body hair with electric hair trimmers made specifically for body hair since they're easy enough to use on large areas (unlike shaving/tweezer plucking). The ones who don't want to take out as much of the hair as they can, for as long as they can, would wax to take out the roots. Laser removal's permanent, but as you could guess, costly.
To help with the red bumps you should try some different shaving creams (mainly try a gel one). Also try only shaving after a hot shower. If it still is a problem after you've tried a few different things, and they don't disappear by themselves after a while, you might want to go see a dermatologist.

How to get rid of chest hair?
I tried shaving my chest with a norelco bodygroom, and I have a number of small red bumps afterwards. What is the best way for men to get rid of their chest hair.
Are there certain delapitories I should use? Any specific creams to minimize red bumps? What do bodybuilders use to get rid of their chest hair?

Well besides shaving, there are a number of reasons to get rid of chest (and other bodily region) hair. You can try trimming them off with clippers. Pulling it off with wax/sugar solutions (it's not that painful, really). Plucking each hair with tweezers (yes it takes a while). Thing about the creams that burn off your hair, is they only burn off the top layer of hair off (and irritate the skin a lot). The roots are still there and will grow back rather quickly. I would believe that most body builder would trim their body hair with electric hair trimmers made specifically for body hair since they're easy enough to use on large areas (unlike shaving/tweezer plucking).
