I want to research and build a family tree online. I've seen lots of sites but which one is the best?

do you know the best free site and the best paid site?

I have honestly only used 1, but it was perfect... Geni.com

This was the tree I was able to build with documents from home, here is my tree of 171 people

I'm the little the guy arrow points at, and yes, you can zoom in, and it doesn't end there, each individual can have new trees stemming off of them, they are all connected on Geni.

Geni works with all type of relationships including divorces and if for living members there is an email invitation slot meaning that member can join and claim the profile you created for them in the tree, and they can start adding their family and relatives to your tree.. it's fantastic, exactly how a Family tree should be.

It does depend on which contry you are from i spose but here are a few i have tried.

www.myheritage.com

Ancestry.com.au/FamilyTree

i've tried myheritage.com and it was ok... but there were some really weird quirks to it (like i had issues deleting things if i made a mistake)... i would avoid this one unless they've fixed a lot since i was last using it (about 6 months ago)
