THAT SAID, I thought it was an interesting choice to do what they did (art wise and in order to draw interest/viewers).
Of course Taylor did magnificently as always. Miley exceeded my expectations, but that doesn't mean I think she did particularly well.
Miley should have just sung the chorus, and not tried to do the verses'!

Taylor's voice really isn't that powerful, whereas Miley's is incredibly strong and soulful. Not that Taylor can't sing, she just has a different kind of voice than Miley, but you can't say Taylor is a better singer than Miley.
And how many of Miley's songs have you heard her perform live? IMO she's one of the best young live performers we have right now, so I'm genuinely wondering where you got your opinions from.
That being said I do agree to an extent with the OP, that together their voices don't work that well, just because Taylor's got the sweet, angelic voice and Miley's is rough and powerful

Did Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift's voices sound good together?
Just because they are both young and women doesn't mean they sound good together. Seperately they are fine, but I for one thought their voices did not blend well. Their styles are too different.

First off let's make this clear, Taylor Swift has a much better voice than Miley. Miley's voice works pretty well on produced, pop hits; but for acoustic especially, she just doesn't have the pipes. THAT SAID, I thought it was an interesting choice to do what they did (art wise and in order to draw interest/viewers).

^^Don't you mean that the other way round? Taylor's voice really isn't that powerful, whereas Miley's is incredibly strong and soulful. Not that Taylor can't sing, she just has a different kind of voice than Miley, but you can't say Taylor is a better singer than Miley.
