Chris Brown assault - Did he hit Rihanna?

As of February 8, 2009, Chris Brown was being investigated for assault. According to TMZ, Chris Brown may have been in an altercation with a woman after a pre-Grammy party. While police refuse to release her name, I wonder if it was his girlfriend Rihanna. Both have canceled their Grammys performances.

It sounds very suspicious. Chris Brown and Rihanna were seen together at Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party. Plus, according to the Huffington Post, "the reason given for Rihanna's non-attendance was that she sustained facial injuries in a car accident." The "facial injuries" sound like they could be the visible injuries reported on the victim. But then it could all be one big ugly coincidence.

It seems, Rihanna saw one of Brown’s ex-girlfriend’s numbers in his phone and flew into a rage that sparked the violent incident.
