1. Icing in the first 48 hours for 10 minutes then off for 10 and again for 10 minutes. Do this 2-3 times. This will help in reducing inflammation.
2. Stretching: stretch the piriformis muscle.
3. Pelvic balance: considered as a great treatment for sciatica for it can decrease tension on the muscles surrounding your pelvis or hip bone.
4. Try to do more movements and avoid sitting down for a long time for this can increase tension and can lead to pain.

• Excellent suggestions. I believe some exercises reinforce pelvic balance as well, such as some qigong and yoga routines. I know that sitting down is a problem for me. I need to make a desk where I can do my computer work standing.
