Sardonic, foul mouthed, filthy, but unflinchingly honest and, at times poetic. Did what all good comedians do and made you think. He is sadly dead (we need his type more than ever at the moment) and he didn't leave us with enough material to remember him by, but he is the funniest man I've ever seen.
If you're looking for someone who is still breathing, I recommend Stuart Francis (www.stewartfrancis.com), a one-liner machine. My face was literally aching from laughing when I saw him last year.

• I want to thank everybody for posting your favorites! Afterward I realized that everybody is a winner, and I can't judge on content because we are all different. Four videos with explanations wins this category here by a hair! Thank you so much everyone for posting the names of your faves!

The best stand up I have ever seen is an English guy called Stewart Lee. He is achingly funny.
