John Cleese, for sure.
But if Rowan Atkinson had been on there it would have been a tough choice.

He is well known as being a member of Monty Python, a group of comedians responsible for the sketch show Monty Python's Flying Circus and for all of the four Monty Python films: And Now for Something Completely Different, Holy Grail, Life of Brian and The Meaning of Life. Apart from Monty Python, with his then wife Connie Booth he also co-created, co-wrote and starred in the critically-acclaimed sitcom Fawlty Towers.

He was also "Nearly Headless Nick" in Harry Potter series and "King Harold" in Shrek series.

I'm sorry, but I have to vote for Alexei Sayle whom is not well known in the USA.

In addition, how can you have this vote without even listing Benny Hill?

And where is Rowan Atkinson?

We had a thread about a week ago where we took suggestions for who should be listed, none of those names came up unfortunately.

I only saw playoff votes, not any solicitation for names of who should be listed. Looking back on your questions, I only see your announcement of the groups ... where you had already decided who was going to be in the running.

Yes, that was the thread, I changed the title of the thread once the discussion was over, I wish I could have included everybody, eitherway, who do you think out of this group of 6?

Yes, This one must be a vote for John Cleese.

Here are two videos, one probably lesser known of him as a 'doctor' explaining the amazing human brain. The other is a bit longer and it's a great interview (one of a series) he gave on the Dick Cavett Show.

He's a master.

Considering that Monty Python is in another category, I think here, it has to be Ricky Gervais. Really, this one "Office" clip ought to be enough to sell it:

But I'll raise it the "Little Fat Man" scene from "Extras"...

And, finally, Ricky goofing around with Elmo on the set of "Sesame Street":

Throwing one in the ring for Ricky Gervais. THe Humpty Dumpty bit from the first video below is one of my favorite comedy clips of all time. I'm not certain why, but it makes me cry laughing every time I see it.
