Now I cant get too detailed on this one...but I own a few SSD drives being that I am engulfed in IT. Flash memory is not too expensive these days, as can be seen with RAM prices. I mean you can buy 4gb of ram for less then $50 US. Crazy..but welcome. That being said, I think manufacturers that make SSD's are milking the market for what they can...because they know its one of those great technologies that actually offers performance. On the flip side, there are only a handful of manufacturers making these drives and it would seem as if they are in some sort of agreement to keep prices high.
It is even quite difficult to find costs of manufacturing....
