What's Walpurgis Night? I've heard of it in some manga that I read, but...the translators didn't explain very much. @_@ Help?

Walpurgis Night is a traditional religious holiday of pre-Christian origin that is celebrated today by Christian and non-Christians alike. It occurs on April 30th or May 1st in parts of Central and Northern Europe to celebrate the coming of Spring.
