The War of 1812 ran from 1812 to 1815. It started with England over various trade restrictions with France (Briton was at war with them at the time), forced recruitment of U.S. citizens into the Royal Navy and the British supporting the American Indians to half America's western expansion.

The Americans called the truce and signed a peace treaty, the Treaty of Ghent which restored to the state they were in such a war.
