On a macro scale, that is hard to beat, on a micro scale... I think I heard a story second hand that might fit the bill... it went something like this:

(the story was being told by a female that was living with her boyfriend at the time)
I woke up and was served breakfest in bed... and while I ate, he told me all the reasons why he loved me... and after I was done eating, he got down on one knee and pulled out the little blue box I had been waiting to see... Then he opened it up and it had a small little note in it saying "April fools."
