And like what dimitrykaplun said, it is a way to repost what someone said, but I think of it more as a way to remind the person being retweeted of what they originally said when they are being responded to.

Its Retweet on twitter or some other twitter-like programs. On Twinkle, an iPhone/iPod touch program, its called Re-ping. Twitter, Twitteriffic, and Twitterfon use Retweet. I guess its a bird thing. =P And like what dimitrykaplun said, it is a way to repost what someone said, but I think of it more as a way to remind the person being retweeted of what they originally said when they are being responded to.
