Sorry! came first. It was adopted by Parker Brothers in 1934 and is believed to have originated in England shortly before then. The game Clue was invented in 1944 by Anthony E. Pratt in the UK. It was originally called Cluedo. It was bought by Parker Brothers in 1949 and renamed Clue.
